A Cornerstone Summer Internship is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity to serve Jesus and his church and be trained and discipled by experienced ministry leaders. This is more than training—it’s an invitation to grow in your love and knowledge of God, increase your dependence on the Holy Spirit, and further the mission of Jesus. All internships are unpaid and go for 3 months 17th Nov 2025 – 9th Feb 2026. Interns will need to pay for Equip Conference, however, we'll provide all other course materials, books, and training aids!

TRAINING & EQUIPPING

You'll receive quality training by skilled teachers, pastors, and ministry staff. But more than head knowledge, you'll also get hands-on experience in various aspects of ministry, serving alongside our Ministry Apprentices and experienced leaders to help advance God's kingdom here in Christchurch.

DISCIPLESHIP & GROWTH

You'll have opportunities to engage with God personally and profoundly through regular discipleship and personalised growth plans. This is not for the faint of heart. You will be challenged in your understanding of God, stretched in your character to be more like Jesus, and grown in your skills and abilities to serve Jesus!

STRUCTURE & FLEXIBILITY

You have room to grow. You'll thrive in an atmosphere that provides the structure needed for discipleship and the flexibility needed to change, be creative, and discover who God has designed you to be. The internships are 2-3 days per week: Involvement on Sundays (attending and serving at two church services), training on Mondays 9am-3:30pm and around 4 hours of ministry and reading time spread throughout the week (there is some flexibility here), giving you some time to earn some summer cash if you need to. Each intern MUST have one 24 hour day off per week to ensure good rest and rejuvenation in serving Jesus with Cornerstone. It is also required to come to the full Equip Conference Monday 5 January 2026 – Friday 9 Jan 2026.

There's 2 weeks off after Christmas, time for Equip and a talk prep week in February that you can do from anywhere.  If you need to take a week off beyond that perhaps to fit in with a family event - maybe put that in the notes at the end.
